The Asia Pacific Region is leading the economic recovery out of the global financial crisis. Initially the region was hit hard, with economic activity in many countries contracting by more than those at the epicentre of the crisis. This resulted in unprecedented declines in trading income, particularly in Asia, and reduced transaction activity throughout much of 2008 and the first half of 2009.
